Folded Flight is both an earthwork as well as a sequential sculpture. The flat plain of the landscape is folded horizontally creating one foot accordion folds that relax back to grade level before folding again.  This folding is repeated four times.  There are four sculptural elements one preceding each fold.  The first, a simple fold, creates a butterfly.  The second fold begins to give a spiral flight.  The third turns inside out on itself and the fourth is the crane, the egret in flight.  The site is 75' W by 300' L with the height of the egret at 24'.  Semi-Finalist Proposal for the City of Stapleton, CO.  Keefer ($300,000) 2010.
