Woman in Pink Sari/Delhi
The poem is by Mira (c. 1498-1550) renowned
woman poet-saint of India. Born a princess in Rajasthan,
she became a sadhu after the early death of her husband. She
was a fierce champion of human rights, especially of women. She
spent her last years attending the destitute and writing poetry. Translation
by Daniel Ladinsky
